About hazelusherjones

Hi - I'm Hazel. I attempt to capture those evocative moments which have inspired me in my life spent either with family and friends or solitary by means of various forms of art. Having lived in North Wales for nearly 30 years, I feel I am in the correct place to share these art forms through my poetry, prose, fabric and textile art and more recently bridal jewellery design. I share my life here with my loving husband and two cats, without whom I would be unable to progress with my love of art. I teach workshops locally, in the hope of sharing my excitement for these skills and helping others discover their own hidden delights either as a hobby or even as a profession. Please do join me in enjoying more fully this wonderful creation we live in, for I believe there is beauty in the strangest places even as there is in the more obvious.

From beginning to end, here is the journey in photographs. Enjoy!

EXCITEMENT for 2015 and onwards !

Exciting times ahead as we all try to set new goals for the year ahead.
I wonder what you have chosen? My main goal is to STRIVE to improve in all aspects of my life and to be able to use this in my creativity. Fabric Art, jewellery design and poetry are my main areas of chosen creativity. I intend to add to these by striving to do something different this year. My first attempt choice is tapestry weaving.

So far I’ve warped up a children’s weaving loom found at a local Charity shop. I then found some inexpensive wool and acrylic mix which I’ve started to play with. I’ll post my attempts when I’ve achieved two inches or 5cms 🙂 Looking forward to hearing from you all with your goals and journeys along the way 🙂

Hi everyone, Welcome to my blog. I’ve recently joined a journey in Journal making shared by many across the whole world. In company with members of a group called Be Creative we are making a journal for the two months of summer. Each day we will receive a prompt provided by Myfanwy . This started today, 1st July, 2014. The idea is to use whatever media you prefer, be it, paint, fabric, ink, pencil, words and make it your own. If you are interested to join us explore and expand your creativity please apply to join us at Summer Journal

The first prompt, prompt 1 is to take a few minutes to yourself somewhere where you can listen to the sounds around you. Record these in your journal. Develop them as you feel.

I have started, simply by writing a list of those sounds as I sat in my garden for fifteen minutes this morning. These are written on index cards but will be transferred to fabric. My journal begins with ‘A Few Lines For Summer’

Enjoy 🙂
